Something to remember me by

Touched by their gesture, I decided very last minute to make the P4 a farewell gift too! What would be a better gift than a photo frame with our class photo?! Spent the whole night making this (with some help from my sis) n m feeling very tired now. Still 2 more left to go. I'm being quite sly by giving them the photo with the hope that they'll remember me! I wonder who'll be the ones who'll treasure this photo for many years to come. Somehow I think Boy So will be one of them. He's one of the sweetest, most considerate n sensitive boy I've ever met. I hope his personality will never change.

Farewell gifts

Big bouquet from the school after I gave a farewell speech on stage on Mon.
Small bouquet (with some flowers already withering...:0) from Boy So in class today. He came in with the flowers behind him and presented to me with a "Hai! For u." before the class started. Was so touched....n he gave it to me with such a big smile! But the element of surprise was absent coz the Japanese homeroom teacher told me that he had brought a present for me when she came in to check on her students. My first flowers from an innocent, young Japanese boy!! :)
Girl Fb made the flowers and card herself. Was very surprised coz she suddenly appeared with her hands outstretched behind me n said, "Nah!". Certainly not the most polite way to give someone a present. :p But I was touched as I didn't expect her to give me something coz she's always so cheeky to me in class.

Sweet escape!

All thanks to the upcoming P5 exchange with J.T primary, most P5 classes are cancelled for rehearsals! Yeah yeah yeah!!! I'm such a wonderful n devoted English teacher.... :0

I can speak Singlish lahhhhh....

Singlish speaking Japanese!! How horrible or how funny can that be?! And most of them come from the upper A class. I've been to observe the A classes and had the chance to meet some A students. If I don't look at them, I would think that I'm listening to Singaporean kids talking. They sound exactly like us! Except I don't speak Singlish in this school.

Boy M in P6 tries to be funny by often putting a "lah" at the end of his sentences. And he does a very good "Aiyoh!" too.

Bloody nose

I was teaching the P4 today when I noticed there was something redish underneath Little K.T's nose ( as usual, instead of sitting at his seat he was hovering around in front of the white board). It was dried blood. I thought he had a nose bleed but apparently he knocked into someone while playing (i guess) in his homeroom class. He must have knocked into a piece of wood to have a bleeding nose!

There are all sorts of accidents in the primary school. Every other day, I would spot children sporting bandages on all possible areas: eye, forehead, knee, cheek, hand, finger etc. In fact, I've already encountered a few one-eyed pirates...

Primary 4 School Exchange

On Tue, students from a local school came for an exchange with the P4. They are the same age as the P4s. But they are bigger than the Japanese kids. Some of the kids were getting nervous. I was looking out if any local kids dare to bully my students by degrading their English. Luckily, I didn't catch any! There wasn't much interaction between them except during the games when the kids have to explain to the local kids how to play. Some of them were so engrossed that they ignored their exchange friends and happily did their things without stuttering or spewing their ABC. I think some pretended so as not to have to speak much in English! There was a rather childish interaction between a group who has a Level A Japanese student (who is mixed). He was chatting cheerily witha local girl.
Chinese girl: Huh? What are u saying? I don't understand. Do you speak Malay otherwise I don't understand u?! Speak in Malay if u want me to understand!
Level A Japanese student: can't remember what he said but he answered very good naturedly.

If it were me, I would have asked her not to be so childish n shut up! :p I hope the student won't think that all local girls are that irritating!

Boy So: Look at the difference of the gifts we've just exchanged. Hmm...should I be happy or not? :p 

Little K.T: Let them do the work while I skive and strike a nice pose for my biggest fan!
