Travel reviews by the experienced don't lie. I really have to thank the blogger who recommended taking the chairlift (エコーチェイリフト）or cable car (which is really a funicular - trust the Japanese to come up with a misleading name! ) for the not-so-strong hearted halfway up before walking up to the summit. Because when we skipped the rides on our way down, we realised that it'd be impossible for ME to climb up 599 m high without any help. By the end of almost barreling down the mountain with little control over your gravity for over 40 mins, it was enough for me to throw in the towel and rest me poor feet.
