Knowing that my parents aren't fond of Tokyo (neither am I), I planned two day trips out to Kanagawa (since they were only here for the weekend) - Yokohama & Kamakura. Kamakura was a first for me too, as I didn't think it would be interesting. A 5-day trip to Kyoto/Nara/Osaka & 4 days of temple touring in 2006 has scared me off from visiting temples for life. But luckily, Kamakura has other things to offer other than temples - the beach, quaint European-ish little shops & beautiful beachfront apartments that prompted me to daydream of owning something like that one fine day.
